Kati O'Toole

Kati O’Toole is from Polson, Montana, so it would only be a seventy mile stretch to call her show at the Church a homecoming. The nearly-full house was either a testament to her lingering connection with her home state, local knowledge of her talent, or most likely both. Having Kalispellians Betty and the Boy open up certainly didn’t hurt, as Bettreena Yeager’s surprisingly mature voice mixed beautifully with Josh Harvey’s guitar, providing a smooth segue into Kati’s set. Whether she was driving the song on the guitar or the keys, or riding shotgun with a shaker, her songs were clear and resonant. Kati was joined onstage by guitarist Asaf Rodeh and drummer Paul Herd, and their nuanced cohesion provided the enthusiastic crowd with a healthy dose of solid songs.
