Adam Arcuragi

Adam Arcuragi’s show at an ex-church Downtown would be our first ever introduction to a venue we’ve kind of always had our eyes on. Though the crosses are gone and the Bibles have been removed like it was public school, it’s still got the pews and a pretty heavy vibe. It turns out that Adam was the perfect fit, as his aggressive and very direct type of folk rock went over like a great sermon. His warm voice remained as smoky and beautiful as it was on his first visit, only this time it was pain free. Bennett joined him at the mic for lush harmonies, and he helped fill out the songs with some lovely mandolin, organ, and melodica. Adam’s new songs have a southern and classic feel, and they sounded perfect inside the church, as the natural acoustics of the room are incredible. Adam has a very powerful presence to go along with his immense talent as a writer and performer, and it was obvious as the intimate crowd dispersed the church that he had certainly gained some new followers.
