Dan Deacon had never really been to Whitefish before, unless you count
getting stuck on a train nearby one Christmas Eve, so he didn't really
know what to expect. Needless to say, the crowd that showed up for his
Monday night show at the Brewery didn't really know what to expect
either. Luckily for us, Dan is not very shy. Kicking things off with a
countdown and a zippy run through "Okie Dokie," he set the tone
immediately. He shook, he mumbled, he tweaked knobs, and he never
stopped moving. The crowd responded in fits and spurts, some embracing
the incredible energy and others just nodding a little bit. Dan, with a
band consisting of an iPod taped to a banana and a buffet table stacked
with foot pedals, mixers, wires and tape, never slowed down. Between
the pulsing beats erupting from the speakers and the constant dazzle of
his own light show extravaganza, he gave the Brewery a one of a kind
show that no one is likely to forget.
