A Weekend With Ted

Ted and I went to see Bright Eyes last weekend. Actually, I went to see Bright Eyes. Ted was there to see the band opening for the opening band, who we missed anyway because Ted had to find a Spike’s so he could have a Junkyard Dog and decide if it was truly the best junk food in the Northeast. Ted insisted that we had time, even though the doors opened at 5. I was pumped when we arrived just in time to see the second opening band finish off their brief set, and Ted was not. He had a mini-tantrum, culminating with this exchange with Piercing Pin Cushion who took our tickets.

TED: You mean to tell me that the show actually started at 6?

PPC: It says so right there on your paper ticket, dude.

Delicious Vinyl

I recently found myself in an Urban Outfitters store. I was there merely as an accomplice, but I couldn’t help but be blown away by the complete lack of anything worth buying, much less overpaying for. It should be stated that I am no fashion maven. And it could be said (and probably has) that I may not actually possess any style because I’m so busy perfecting the art of comfort, which often falls outside the lines of style. But even someone as detached from apparel as I couldn’t help but notice the crapulence hanging from racks, folded on shelves, and unflatteringly modeled by mannequins and store employees, who all looked like extras for the hipster Olympics.
